In the middle of my life I felt like turning my own situation inside out. I wanted to take a closer look at what people in my environment were doing at this stage of their lives and which questions they were asking themselves. Midlife – vaguely considered to be the time between 40 und 50 – seems to be the first period in our lives, which invites us to deliberately make up something like an interim balance and where it also seems opportune to ask others for theirs.

What turned out well? Where were you facing challenges? What dreams are remaining? What have you found out about life? What will change? The indetermination that marks this period of our lives was particularly tempting for me. The pictures and the accompanying interviews with the protagonists are meant to create a room for further reflection, which invites the viewer to reflect upon the turning points of her or his own life.
